Valencia vs Young Boys Live

This is an important game for both teams as they will at least be competing for third place in the group, while Valencia may have higher ambitions. Young Boys’ defensive issues are a major concern and Valencia’s savvy and strong organisation gives them the edge in Switzerland.

While Valencia have struggled in LaLiga Santander, their coach Marcelino has indicated that the team’s target right now is to have a potential Champions League qualification on their hands when they reach the last game of the group stage. Although Los Che are third in the group – with one point after two matches – the Spaniard has confidence in his team.

“I always see my team as a favourite and we will never give up,” he told a press conference prior the game against Young Boys.”The results will come, but we know that winning here won’t be easy. “We want to reach the last competitive match with options.

“We have to reach the last game alive and depend on ourselves.” Marcelino went on to discuss the players’ preparation for the upcoming game.

“It’s obvious that 48 hours have passed since the last game and we’ve done an analysis of the previous match,” he added. “The change of competition forces us to place ourselves in the Champions League.

“Last year the players won the privilege of playing this competition and we have to forget the Leganes game. “It’s hard to win, that’s evident, but the team’s competitive level is good.”

Finally, the 53-year-old stressed that the team has to recover its attacking form as soon as possible. “I didn’t speak of anxiety, I said that when a team doesn’t win the tension is increased and doubts are generated,” he said.

“It is true that we don’t win and that offensively the level of efficiency is very low, but we trust our strikers and I am sure they will enter into the dynamics [of the team]. “Last season we had efficiency above normal and this year it is below.”The match away at Young Boys kicks off at 18:55 CEST on Tuesday evening.
